Altonites Attend H. Baune Funeral

A number of Alton relatives attended the funeral of Henry Baune at Wabasso, Miim. last week.

Mr. Baune was born in Olenberg, Germany Sept. 8, 1865, and would have reached the age of 94 on his next birthday.

He came to this country at the age of 16 and lived at Petersburg where he married Elizabeth Schmitz.

Later the family farmed near Alton and moved to Minnesota in 1932. Mrs; Baune died in 1924. He had been making his home with his son Alle and was in good health considering his advanced age.

Surviving are six sons, Edward, Alle, Lawrence, Ray and Gregor of Wabasso, Minn, and Clarence of Lamberton; 49 grandchildren and 90 great grandchildren. Two daughters and one son died at an early age.

Funeral services were held at St. Anne's Catholic church May 20. Pallbearers were grandsons.
