WILLIAM M. HUISMAN.
William M. Huisman, 33, passed away Wednesday Feb. 17 at the Doornink Hospital following a second appendicitis operation. He was born Nov. 10, 1910 on a farm 2 miles southwest of Newkirk where he lived with his parents until they moved to Orange City. At the age of 10 years he went to live with his sister, Mr. and Mrs. C. Cortlever of Newkirk and continued living with them on the farm until the year 1937 when he married Miss Minnie Ronkema of Springfield, S. Dak. The couple lived on the farm of his father, M. Huisman, near Newkirk during these 6 years of married life. Surviving are his wife and 2 children, Matthew aged 4 years and Hendrene aged one year. Surviving also are his parents Mr. and Mrs. M. Huisman, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, Marie, Mrs. C. Cortlever of Newkirk; Henry Huisman of Hospers; Dena, Mrs. Wm. Huitink of Orange City and Herbert Huisman of. Rock Valley. Funeral services were held Monday at the First Ref. church at Orange City, where the decedent was a member, with Rev. H. Colenbrander officiating. Interment was made in the local cemetery. Those coming from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ronkema, parents of Mrs. W. Huisman of Springfield, S. D., and their 3 sons, Cornelius, Raymond and Peter Ronkema.
