Barbara Beyer Dies In Accident -Three Children In Auto Accident, One Dies.
Three children of Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Beyer of Orange City were involved in a serious automobile accident last Friday night at six o'clock when James Grotenhuis attempted to pass the Beyers car driven by Kenneth Beyers, 18, on the Alton highway, one mile east of the Orange City Junior College. Kenneth attempted to turn into the Gerrit Beyer driveway when Grotenhuis collided with their car. Both cars were travelling east. Barbara Beyer, 11 years old, was critically injured and died at 1:30 in the De Bey hospital in Orange City, Helen Beyers, 16, suffered a broken back. Although Kenneth was thrown clear of the car, he suffered no serious injuries. The Beyers children were returning from Orange City where they had attended Catechism classes. The funeral of Barbara Beyer was held on Tuesday, 1 o'clock at the Beyers home sni 1:30 at the Trinity Church in Orange City. Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Beyers are the parents of one older son, Glen, who is in the Phillipine Islands with the U.S. Army. Mrs. Beyer will be remembered as the former May Pas of Orange City.
