OBITUARIES - WILLARD TE GROTENHUIS.
John Willard Te Grotenhuis passed away at the Hull hospital early Wednesday morning following injuries received when a bull attacked him the week before. He had reached the age of 38 years. Mr. Te Grotenhuis was born on a farm west of Sioux Center on Dec. 26, 1902 and after his father died he moved to Hull with his mother. On Feb. 1, 1928 he was united in marriage to Miss Hattie Bouma of Hull to which union four children, were born. Left to mourn his departure are his widow and children: Gaynor 11 years; Lester 9 years; Myrtle 7 years and Marvin 3 years. Also his mother Mrs. Mary Bos of Hull and one sister Mrs. Bernard Ver Hoef of Sioux Center. He was preceded in death by his father Gerrit Te Grotenhuis and 2 brothers, Andrew at the age of 4 years and Gerrit John who died May 3, 1937. Mr. Te Grotenhuis was engaged in farming on the farm located one half mile south of Carmel where the family have lived for the past eleven years. He was a member of the Carmel Reformed church and took an active part in community work. He was a member of the Board of the Farmers Co-op. Produce Ass'n of Sioux Center. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon Aug. 30 at the Carmel church with the Rev. Mr. Rottschafer officiating assisted by Rev. Mr. Douwstra of Hull. Interment was made et the Hull cemetery
