DEATH OF REV. J. HUlSENGA – Aged Minister Passed Away at Rock Valley.
A telegram was received on Tuesday last announcing the sudden death of Rev. J. Huisenga at Rock Valley, Iowa. Rev. Huisenga was 76 years of age. His first ministerial work was in Virginia and second in Michigan, but some twenty-five or more years ago he accepted a charge in Holland, Nebraska. From there about twenty years ago he came to Rock Valley, where he continued in the ministery until about ten years ago, he was appointed Classical Missionary of the Iowa Classics. This office he held until quite recently. He has been for a number of years a member of the Y. W. C. A. Board of Directors. He also served in the Civil War, having enlisted in the infantry from Michigan. He leaves to mourn his loss, one son, Dr. Dick Huisenga, of Chicago, and three daughters, Mrs. I. Hospers, of Hubbard, Mrs. De Bey, of Doon, and Mrs. A. J.
Muste, of N. Y. His wife and two oldest children proceeded him to the Great Beyond.
