SIOUX CENTER, Iowa - Elizabeth J. Van Maanen, 74, of Sioux Center died Tuesday, April 18,
2000, at her residence.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with the Rev. Robert Drenten officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.
Mrs. Van Maanen was born Aug. 25, 1925, near Sioux Center, the daughter of Aart L . and Alice (Lammers) Franken. She married Gerrit B. Van Maanen on Sept. 28, 1951, in Carmel, Iowa. They farmed near Sioux Center. He died in 1991. She attended Bethel Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include three daughters, Alma Van Maanen and Janet and her husband, Mel Pickell, all of Sioux Center and Elaine Stevens of Ashton, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Jamie Van Maanen, Jerry and Melinda Pickell, Ashley, Shantry, Cecily and Seth Stevens; a brother and his wife.
Jim and Nell Franken of Sioux Center; a sister and her husband, Hermina and Louis Wynia of
Maurice, Iowa; and a sister-in-law Bertha Franken of Sioux Center.
She-was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Alfred and Dick.
