DEATH OF CHATSWORTH WOMAN
Mrs. Amanda Hendricks Passed Away at Iowa City Sunday Mrs. Amanda Hendricks, long time resident of Chatsworth and vicinity, passed away at the University hospital in Iowa City Sunday afternoon following a prolonged illness from cancer. She was taken to the hospital at Iowa City about a month ago.

The remains were brought back, to Chatsworth and funeral services were held at 'St. Mary's Catholic church in Hawarden at 9:30 Wednesday morning with Rev. Fr. J. M. Neppel in charge. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery here.

Amanda Melvina Davis, daughter of Charley and Betsy Davis, was born in Michigan Nov. 15, 1869, so lacked but a little more than a month of being 69 years of age at the time of her death. She grew to young womanhood in Michigan and was united in marriage there with John A. Hendricks on May 30, 1885. Some years later they located in Union County, S.D. and for many years operated a farm west of Chatsworth. On their retirement from active farming they moved to Chatsworth in March, 192Q, and Mrs. Hendricks has since continued to make her home there.

Mr. Hendricks passed away about eleven years ago. She is survived by thirteen children, 37 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The children are Mrs. Dorothy Lane and Mrs. Vera Mclnnis of Sioux City; ArtHendricks of Bonesteel, S, D.; Evert Hendrjcks of Akron; Ernest Rendricks, Mrs. Maud Skogman and Mrs, Nora Skogman, residing west of Chatsworth; Mose Hendricks of Hawarden; John Hendricks of Alcester; Mrs. LaRena Crow and Floyd Hendricks of HawardeN; and Charles and Verne Hendricks of Chatsworth.
