Obituary: Rock Valley, IA: Dora Klarenbeek, 95, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Whispering Heights, Rock Valley. Memorial Service will be 11 am Saturday at Netherlands Reformed Congregation, Rock Valley. Burial prior at Valley View Cemetery. Rev. P.L. Bazen will be officiating. Visitation with family 6-8 pm Friday at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley. Memorials may be directed to Netherlands Reformed Christian School.
Dora was born January 24, 1917 at Sioux Center, Iowa, daughter of Teunis and Clazina (Meyers) Fluit. She married Ray Klarenbeek on January 24, 1940 on the homestead near Inwood. Together they farmed near Inwood until retiring and moving to Rock Valley in 1978. Ray died November 30, 1982. Dora was a Home Health Nurse Aid for many years and then helped with mending at Hegg Memorial until she was 93. She was dedicated in visiting the sick and elderly; enjoyed crocheting and gardening; lifetime member of Netherlands Reformed Congregation.

Survivors are daughters, Wilma Davelaar of Rock Valley, Carol (Arvin) Van Essen of Inwood; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and step-grand and great-grandchildren; Klarenbeek in-laws. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray; son-in-law, Pete Davelaar; infant great-granddaughter, Crystal Dawn Rozeboom; step-great-granddaughter, Cindy Post; brothers and sisters.
