Dena DeWild, 88, of Boyden, died Friday, Nov. 16 at Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn.

Services were Monday, Nov. 19, at the First Reformed Church with Rev. Mark Volkers officiating. Burial was at Hope Cemetery in Hull under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home of Boyden.

DeWild, daughter of William & Lena (Huibregtse) Meerdink, was born Oct. 12, 1902 in Hull. She married Henry W. De Wild, Feb. 22, 1924 in Hull. He died Aug. 14, 1961.

She taught country school near Hull for two years. They lived all of their married life in Hull and she had resided in Boyden for 20 years. In 1988 she entered Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn. She was a member of the First Reformed Church, Women's Guild and the Women's Club of Boyden.

Survivors include two daughters, Antoinette (Mrs. Vernon) Ten Haken of Boyden and LaVonne (Mrs. Robert) DeZeeuw of Sheldon; a brother, Dr. Ben Meerdink of Hull; six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
