Esther Goeringer Esther Margaretha Goeringer, 88, of Hull, died Monday, June 18, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.

Funeral service was Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St . Paul Lutheran Church, rural Hull with the Rev. John Riggle officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Goeringer was born on March 12, 1919, in Trosky, Minnesota, the daughter of August and Frieda (Funck) Reyelts. She was raised at Trosky , where she was baptized on June 11, 1919, at St.John Lutheran Church. At the age of 13, her family moved to Hull, where she was confirmed on April 9, 1933, at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

On March 4, 1937, she married Ewald Henry Emanuel Goeringer in Menno, South Dakota. They made their home in Hull, where she helped people in their homes. She also served as custodian at St. Paul Lutheran Church and Boyden-Hull Community Schools. Her husband died on November 2, 2005, in Sioux Falls, after more than 68 years of marriage.

In March of this year, she became a resident of Pleasant Acres. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed singing hymns. She liked family gatherings, driving people, for whatever they needed, and traveling around the United States and to Europe, especially to see relatives in Germany.

Survivors include her daughter and her husband,,Dolores and Cornelius Wabeke of Newell; her son, Lelon Goeringer of Hull; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildrenl; a brother-in-law, Alfred Winter of Pima, Arizona;, a sisterin-law, Viola Goeringer of BeHevue, Washington; a brother-in-law and his wife, Walter and Betty Goeringer of Hull; a sister-in-law, Viola Ackerman of Bismark, North Dakota; and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Winter; and a sister-in-law, Hendrika Reyelts.
