Mrs. Norbert Goergen
Mrs. Norbert (Cecelia) Goergen, 62, Granville, died Thursday, Dec. 23 at a Sioux City hospital after brief illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Granville. The Rev. Francis Nemmers officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen. The rosary was said at the church at 5 p.m. by Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America and Ladies Catholic Order of Foresters, and by the parish at 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Goergen, the former Cecelia O'Meara, was born Oct. 25,1920, at Ireton. She grew up in the Ireton and Hawarden areas. She taught rural school several years prior to her marriage. She married Norbert Goergen Oct. 11, 1941, at Hawarden. They lived at Granville where they operated the Goergen Oil Co.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Church Guild, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America, Ladies Catholic Order of Foresters, and of the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Ron of Milwaukee, Wis.; two daughters, Mrs. Jeffery (Judy) Schaeffer of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Michael (Jan) Homan of Spencer; three brothers, John of DeKable, 111., Bob of Wendover, Utah, and Paul of Hudson, S.D.; seven sisters, Mrs. Tony (Durette) Ney of Hawarden, Mrs. Ben (Eva)Conway of Fullerton, Calif., Mrs. Milo (Irene) Graff and Mrs. Carl (Helen) Dunkeson, both of Granville, Mrs. Ed (Catherine) LaVelle of St. James, Minn., Mrs. Conrad (Pauline) Petterson of Wichita, Kan., and Mrs. Paul (Josephine) Bandy of Dallas, Texas and 11 grandchildren.
