Herman Mooi, 93, of Orange City died Tuesday, February 26 in the Pioneer Memorial Home on Orange City.
Services were at 1:30. p.m. Saturday in the Notier-ver Lee-Langeland Chapel in Holland, Mich. The Rev. Kenneth Reynem officiated. Burial was in the Pilgrim Home Cemetary in Holland.
Family visitation*was from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
Mr. Mooi was born Dec. 12, 1891 in Appingkedom, The Netherlands, he came to the United States and to Chicago in 1901. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He married Antina Toren June 24, 1920,in Chocago. They moved to Holland in 1922 where he owned and operated a roofing business.
They retired in 1955 and moved to New Port Richy, Florida. In 1980 they moved, to Pioneer Memorial Home. She died Nov. 16, 1982.
Mr. Mooi was a member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City.
Survivors include two sons, James R. of Marco Island, Fla. and Dale E. of Hollan, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Edith) Denekas of Rock Valley; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
