Mrs. J. Wassenaar, nee Tryntje Leen, died Monday morning after a sickness of about two months. She was born in Welsryp, Netherlands, July 5, 1836, and married Johannes Wassenaar March 1859. In 1870 they came to this country and made their home at Orange City in 1888. Her departure is deplored by her aged husband and four children, who are all married. Funeral services were held in the First Reformed church Thursday afternoon.

Mrs. J. Wassenaar, a resident of the county since 1870, died at the age of 78. She was the mother of Peter Wassenaar of Maurice, Nicholas Wassenaar of Sioux Center, and Mrs. Gerrit Klay and Mrs. John Oolman of Orange City.
