Sioux Center News, December 11, 1941

Mr. Harry Vellinga, resident of this community for the past 8 years, died at his home Tuesday afternoon about 4:15 after an illness of only a few hours.

Harry Vellinga was born in The Netherlands, July 29, 1882, and passed away in Ireton, Dec. 2, 1941, at the age of 59 years, four months and five days.

Mr. Vellinga is survived by his wife, four sons, Dewey of Clatskaine, OR; Mrs. John Vande Berg of Carnes; Joe of Tillamock, OR, and Marion, Lawrence and Marietta of Ireton, four grandchildren and many other relatives. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at the Christian Reformed Church at 2:00, the Rev. G. C. Aalberts officiating. A quartet composed of Mildred Walraven, Vera Gerald, Bud De Boer accompanied by Francis Ten Naple sang "In The Sweet Bye and Bye". Pall bearers were H. J. Ten Naple, Bill De Vos, Frank Wynia, Jake Ver Hoeven, Edd Mulder and Albert De Raad. Interment was made at the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
