Hull - Nellie DeJongh, 79, of Hull died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1986 in a nursing home in Hull.

Mrs. DeJongh, the former Nellie Van Surksum, was born April 11, 1907, at Boyden. She married Henry DeJongh, March 12, 1926 at Hull. They farmed near Hull most of their married life, moving into Hull in 1962. In November 1986 she became a resident of Pleasant Acres Nursing Home at Hull.

Mrs. DeJongh was a member of First Reformed Church and Reformed Church Women.

Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Marian (Mrs. John) Groeneweg; Verla (Mrs. Harold) Ten Haken and Diane (Mrs. Harlyn) Kempema, all of Rock Valley, Henrietta (Mrs. Art) Boeve of Steen, MN, and Beverlin (Mrs. Dave) Wesselink of Marathon; a son, Vernon of Hull; three brothers, Jake of Bellflower, CA; John of Chino, CA, and William Van Surksum of Hull; a sister, Johanna (Mrs. Lou) Van Batavia of Hull; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday, Dec. 23 in the First Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Gerald Vander Velde officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.
