Louis VanderHamm, a life long resident of this vicinity, and a prominent figure in the community, died after an illness caused by sarcoma.

Louis Bernhard VanderHamm, the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Vander Hamm, was born at Monticello, Iowa, September 10, 1869. In spring of 1872 at the age of two and a half years he came with his parents to Sioux county spending the rest of his life on the farm which, at the time, his father had taken up as a homestead, situated five miles southeast of Ireton. On December 20, 1892, he married Miss Helene Geuder, of Guttenberg, Iowa. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Oscar, Lorenz and Walter, three daughters, Mrs. Mathilda Baack, Velda and.Leona, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, five brothers, three grandchildren and a host of relatives. Funeral services with
Rev. C. D. Nuoffer in charge were held from St. John's Lutheran church
