Kelvin Kooima
Kelvin Ryan Kooima, 37, of HuIl died Friday, August 27, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. A memorial service was Monday at 2 p . m . at First Christian Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. Carl Klompien officiating. Interment was at the Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley.
Kooima was born April 30, 1967, in Sioux Center, the son of Arthur and Theresa (Bartman) Kooima. He -was raised at Rock Valley, where he attended the Christian school. He then graduated from the Western Christian High School in Hull. On May 21, 1988, he married Kristi Valynn Keizer at Hull. They lived in Rock Valley for two years and then in Luverne, Minnesota, for two years. For the past 11 years, they made their home in Hull. Kooima had been employed by Valley Machining in Rock Valley, The Pizza Ranch in Luverne, Buys and Hoksbergen Construction in Hull, and Link Manufacturing in Sioux Center. He was currently working in
the production department of the Pella Corporation in Sioux Center. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where he exercised his strong faith. He was a great example of how a Christian responds to trials, and he touched many lives i n the process. He enjoyed singing, golfing, riding bike, model railroading, and just being with his family.
Survivors include his wife; four children, Trentin, McKenzie, Jordan, and Parker, all at home; his
father, Art, of Rock Valley; five brothers and their wives, Jerry and Carol, Bruce and Linda, Dave and Diana, Scott and Pam and Preston and Sue, all of Rock Valley; parents- in-law, Jim and Veil Keizer of Huh; a brother-in-law and his wife, Korey and Heather Keizer of George; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Kandace and Gerry Brands of Inwood.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
