SIOUX CENTER, Iowa - Ben Kraayenbrink, 89, of Sioux Center died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at Sioux Center Community Hospital.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. today at First Reformed Church Chapel with the Revs. Roger Voskuil and Arnold Punt officiating.
Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kraayenbrink was born Oct. 20, 1911, in Holland, the son of Hendrik and Alyda (Nyman) Kraayenbrink. He married Jeannette Van Roekel on Oct. 5, 1929, in Sioux City. They farmed and he also served as a police officer. He was a member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. He enjoyed fishing and pitching horseshoes.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Harry and Wilma of Sioux Center, Alvin and Jeanine of Oelwein, Iowa, Dick and Virgie of Pella, Iowa, Bernice and John Vander Stouwe of Cypress, Calif., and Joyce and Alan Brown of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif; two sons-in-law, Peter and his wife, Ella Mae Moss of Orange City, Iowa, and James Lyons of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two daughters, Darlene Moss and Linda Lyons; a great-grandson, Joshua; and six brothers and sisters, Johanna, John, Albert, Henry, Lena and Dick.
