February 6, 1924—November 26, 1998
Maxine Jager, 74, of Sioux Center died Thursday, November 26, the result of an automobile accident, at Sioux Center Community Hospital and Health Center.
Funeral services were Tuesday, December 1, at the Maurice Reformed Church, with the Rev. Wayne Sneller officiating. Burial was at Sherman Township Cemetery near Maurice.
Mrs. Jager was born to Ivan and Emma (Lewis) Lathrop on February 6, 1924, at Jefferson,
South Dakota. She was a graduate of Central High School in Sioux City and married Albert
Jager in Maurice on November 28, 1947. During her lifetime, she was employed by the Maurice Telephone Company, Aalfs Manufacturing Le Mars and EMW Groschopp in Sioux Center. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Her hobbies included reading, crafts and handwork.
She is survived by Sherril (Sherry) and LeRoy Krikke of Salida, California, Perry and LeAnn
Jager of Maurice, Curtis and Marlys Jager of Orange City, Gayla and James Wielenga of Boyden and Warren and Barbara Jager of Orange City; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Jay L. Champlin of Naches, Washington, L.D. Champlin of Webb City, Missouri, Irma Trobaugh and Myrdith Bradshaw, both of Centralia, Washington, Bonnie Raima of Sultan, Washington, and the Rev. Dr. Ivan Lathrop of Centralia, Washington; and her mother-in-law, Nellie Jager of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
At her funeral service, the clergy were the Rev. Wayne Sneller and the Rev. Dr. Ivan Lathrop.
