Audrey J. Den Herder, 63, of Sioux Center died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at Sioux Center Community Hospital.
Memorial servcies will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Reformed Church, with the Rev. Mark De Witt officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens
Cemetery.
Mrs. Den Herder was born March 1, 1936, in Sioux Center, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Kuiken) Dykshorn. She married Roger A. Den Herder on Sept. 17, 1957, in Sioux Center. He died June 10,1975. She was employed as a laboratory and x-ray technician and as part of the office staff at Community Hospital.
She was then employed as a travel consultant at Travel Center for 15 years, until November 1998. She served as a 4-H leader, past president of Sioux County Federated
Women's Club and on the Sioux County Zoning Commission. She was a member of Sioux Center Community School board for nine years. She was a member of First Reformed Church, where she was an organist and a choir member and served on various committees in and for the Reformed Church in America.
She was active with the Reformed Church Women's Ministries and as denominational president.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth and her husband, Ron Hurd, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Kaye Den Herder of Abilene, Texas; two sons and their wives. Kirk and Diane and Jim and Amy, all of Sioux Center; a foreign exchange student daughter,
Birgit Roseman of Germany; her mother of Sioux Center; seven grandchildren, Emily and Julie Hurd and David, Michael, Lucas, Abby and Anna Den Herder; three brothers and tiieir wives, Wayne and Jeanne Dykshorn of Ireton, Iowa, Owen and Eulyn Dykshorn of Sioux Center and
Eldon and Terry Dykshorn of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; three sisters and their husbands, Wanda and Marvin Te Grotenhuis of Louisville, Colo., Mildred and Gerald Meuleners of Wilmar, Minn., and Shirley and Alan Schouten of Sioux Center; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and
Marlene Den Herder of Tuscon, Ariz., Mary and Warren Vande Berg of Sun Lakes, Ariz., Philip Den Herder of Arnolds Park, Iowa, and Carol Den Herder of Sun Lake.
She was preceded in death by her father.
