Rev. Benjamin Ver Steeg Dies in Calif.

Rev. Benjamin Ver Steeg, 57, of Artesia, Calif., a former Orange City resident, died Nov. 8 at an Artesia hospital. The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 12 at the First Reformed Church, Orange City, with the Rev. Raymond Van Heukelom and the Rev. Frank Snuttjor officiating. Burial was at West Lawn cemetery with the Van Etten Funeral Home in charge.

The Rev. Mr. Ver Steeg was born March 24, 1916, at Orange City. He married Mildred Vanden Bos Aug. 21, 1939, at Orange City. He was pastor at Chancellor, S.D., Sioux Center, George and Artesia.

Survivors include the widow; a son, David of Littleton, Colo.; two grandchildren; six brothers, Jacob of Sibley, the Rev. Gysbert, William and Marion, all of Orange City, Harold of Hopkins, Minn., and Clarence of Evanston, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. William Boone of Sioux Center, Mrs. Gerrit Wesselink of Sibley, Mrs. Jacob De Haan of Orange City and Miss Nelvina Ver Steeg of Parchment, Mich.
