Sheldon - Funeral services for Frank VanSteenwyk, 77, were held on Monday, August 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Sheldon. The Rev. Clarence Potter officiated the service with burial in the East Lawn Cemetery of Sheldon. The Vander Ploeg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

VanSteenwyk died August 21 at the Sheldon Nursing Home.

He was born on June 7, 1909, in Orange City. He married Karra Keyes on May 27, 1931, in Bemis, SD. VanSteenwyk owned Frank's Auto and Electric for 36 years.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Gilbert of Bountiful, UT; two daughters: Darlene (Mrs Frank) Schwartz of Sheldon and Coreen (Mrs. Less) Paulson of Glenwood, MN; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Latinga of Clear Lake, SD; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
