Ida De Yager, 85, of Sioux Center, died suddenly Thursday, July 19, at Fellowship Village Nursing Home in Inwood.

Services were at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Robert Holwerda officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation was 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

De Yager, daughter of Albert & Minnie (Hubers) Gerritsen, was born Nov. 20, 1904 in Sioux Center. She grew up near Rock Valley and attended country school there. She married Sam De Yager of Orange City on Dec. 21, 1923 in Sioux Center. They farmed in Sioux County and in Lincoln County, South Dakota, until they retired in Sioux Center.

She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church for many years.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Gerrit and Dena of Artesia, CA; Albert & Minnie of Inwood; Bill & Marlene of Steen, MN, and Junior and Ann of Inwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy & Gerrit Byker of Hawarden; five sisters: Hattie Vander Kamp of Sioux Center; Ann Roelofs of Chino, CA; Harriet Driesen of Hull, Nell Driesen of Rock Valley and Winnie Wielenga of Orange City; 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death also by her daughter, Irene, five brothers, two sisters and one great-granddaughter, Kendra Schuiteman.
