Dena De Yager, 78, of Bellflower, Calif., died Dec. 16, 2003 at a hospital in Lakewood, Calif. Services were held at Artesia Cemetery and at the Christian Reformed Church in Artesia.

Dena De Yager was born near Hawarden on Sept. 8, 1925 the daughter of Albert & Jenna Zwiers. She married Gerrit De Yager on Dec. 14, 1945. They moved to California in 1953.

Survivors include her husband, Gerrit; five sons, Stan, Alvern, Ivan, Gary and Jerry; one daughter, Donna Hibma; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Minnie Zwart of Hawarden; three brothers-in-law, Albert, Bill and Jr. De Yager; and one sister-in-law, Tracy Byker of Hawarden.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Fannie Vos and Bertha Kamstra.
