Funeral services for Witte Ver Maat of Rock Valley were held at 10 o'clock at the Porter Funeral Home and at 1:30 at the First Reformed Church of Rock Valley with Rev. H. B. Poppen officiating. He was born in the Netherlands August 25, 1875 and came to this country at the age of 17. He farmed in this area until 1948 when he retired and moved into Rock Valley. He had attained the age of 86 years, 7 months and 9 days.

He married Ida Vondervaan, January 12, 1912. They have one son, Harry.

The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in January of this year.

He is survived by the widow, Ida, and son, Harry, at home. Three infant sons preceded him in death.
