ROCK VALLEY--Harold Ver Mulm, 67, Rock Valley, died Monday, Feb. 7, at Sioux Center Community Hospital due to kidney failure.

Services were Friday, Feb. 11, at First Reformed Church in Rock Valley, with the Rev. Mike Van Hamersveld officiating. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley, under the direction of Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Harold Ver Mulm, son of Cornelius and Cora (Boscaljon) Ver Mulm, was born May 16, 1937, in Rock Valley. He married Nelva Vander Sluis on Oct. 16, 1956, in Inwood. He started working for the co-op in Rock Valley at the age of 16 and worked for 45 years.

He was a Foster Grandparent at Hope Haven in Rock Valley for two years. He loved fishing, watching squirrels, birds and sitting outdoors. The only thing in nature he did not enjoy was the gnats and mosquitoes. While he was homebound, he became an avid game show watcher. He always enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing and when able, would make crackers and cheese for the grandchildren after school. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Nelva Ver Mulm of Rock Valley; five children, Duane and Sherry Ver Mulm of Rock Valley, Sharon and Warren Kroontje of Sioux Falls, SD, Dave and Deb Ver Mulm of Sioux Center, Lois and Tim Erickson of Hull, and Gale and Steven Boldt of Wilton; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude and James Vermeer of Sioux Center; and three brothers, Bill and Mary Ver Mulm of Cosby, MO, Marvin and Audrey Ver Mulm of Sioux Falls, and Ray and Ella Mae Ver Mulm of Sioux Center.
