Funeral services will be held at the First Reformed church here at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) for Nick A. Bomgaars, 71, life-long resident of Sioux county and a resident
of Sioux Center since 1948, who died at the Sioux Center Community hospital Monday morning, a few hours after he had suffered a heart attack.
Mr. Bomgaars, a retired farmer, who resided in the Middleburg area for approximately 37 years prior to moving into Sioux Center, had been employed here the past several summers as caretaker of the city park.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. John Roggen and burial will be made in the
Sioux Center Community cemetery. Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A brief service will be held at 1 pm at the family home at 621 4th Avenue
N. E., preceding the service at the church.
Mr. Bomgaars was born at Orange City June 8, 1888. He was married to Cornelia Hubers March 16, 1911, and the couple farmed in the Middleburg area until moving into Sioux Center in November of 1948.
Survivors include his widow of Sioux Center; three sons, Arie of Boyden, John of Hull and Clarence of Sioux Center, and seven grandchildren
Also surviving him are; two brothers, Marinus of Hull and John of Orange City; a sister, Nellie (Mrs. Pete Verrips) of Sioux Center.
One brother, Frank, preceded him in death.
