Bert Bolluyt, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tunis C. Boiluyt, was born November 11, 1897 near Sioux Center, Iowa and died on April 15, 1987 at the Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden at the age of 89 years.
He moved with his parents to Orange City and Maurice areas. On October 6, 1924 he was united in marriage to Susie Schreur at Maurice. After their marriage he farmed in the Maurice and
Ireton area, moving to a farm near Hawarden in 1937. He retired in 1977 to Hawarden and
made his home with his daughter, Edith Schlueter. For the past year he was a resident
of the Hillcrest Care Center.
He is survived by two sons, Edward (Bud) and Erwin Dean, both of Hawarden; one brother, Tony of Portland, Oregon; one sister, Gertrude Kots of Orange City; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie, on May 17, 1978; two daughters, Edith Schlueter and Irene BoUuyt; and one son, Elmer.
