Robert Ver Mulm, 79, of Maurice died Thursday, May 28, at his home following a brief illness.

Services were held Saturday, May 30 at the First Reformed Church in Maurice. Rev. Robert Wallinga officiated. Burial was at Sherman Township Cemetery under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City.

Mr. Ver Mulm was born July 23, 1907 at Rock Valley, the son of William and Matilda (Wassenaar) Ver Mulm. He married Gertrude Hoekstra Feb. 22, 1934 at Maurice. A lifelong area farmer, he retired in 1974 and moved to Maurice. He was a member of First Reformed Church of Maurice.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; a son, Peter of Sioux Center; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Wilma) Neis of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Siersma of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Jake of Rock Valley; and two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Jennie) Ver Sluys of Flandreau, S.D., and Mrs. Albert (Johanna) Gerritsen of Rock Valley.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Case, Frank, Bill, Herb and Robert; and one sister, Nellie.
