Peter H. Vis, 59, of Rock Rapids, died Sunday, June 8, in a hospital at Rock Rapids of a brief illness.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Rock Rapids Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. James Hoogeveen officiated. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. There was a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. June 10, at the Van Ginkel Funeral Home, Rock Rapids.

Mr. Vis was born Feb. 5, 1921, at Hull. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Louise Punt Feb. 25, 1949, Sioux Center. He moved to Rock Rapids in 1949 and was a partner in K and F Motors for more than 30 years.

He was a member of the Rock Rapids Christian Reformed Church where he served on the church consistory and was serving as treasurer of Rock Rapids CORA at the time of his death.

Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Merle (Janice) Broesder of Little Rock; three sons, Howard of Rock Rapids, Craig of Brookings, S.D., and Daryl at home; five grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Winnie Vis of Hull; two sisters, Mrs. Peter De Stigter of Sioux Center and Mrs. Bernard Stuit of Modesto, Calif.; and two brothers, Bert of Rock Valley and Henry W. of Hull.
