Edward Vis, 68, of rural Rock Valley, died Monday, May 14, 1990 at the Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley.

Mr. Vis was born Oct. 25, 1921, in Hull. He married Gertrude DeGroot on Feb. 15, 1943, in Maurice. They farmed near Hull until 1982, when they moved to rural Rock Valley.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; two sons: the Rev. Bill Vis, Bozeman, Mont.; and Gerrit, Rock Valley; three daughters: Mrs. Delton (Jan) Carrell, Houston; Loretta McNulty, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Mrs. Ken (Sandra) Wolthuizen, Sheldon; 19 grandchildren; two brothers: Walter, Wyoming, Mich.; and John, Grand Rapids, Mich.; and seven sisters, Mrs. Cornie (Elizabeth) Zevenbergen, Baldwin, Wis.; Mrs. Everett L. (Gertrude) Frankin, Sioux Center; Mrs. S. T. (Henrietta) Cammenga, Holland, Mich.; Mrs. Gary (Kathryn) Van Kley and Mrs. Jake (Margaret) Teunissen, both of Doon; Nellie Vis, Hull; and Mrs. Phillip (Cornelia) Flikkema, Manhatten, Mont.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley. Burial was in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
