Doris Elaine Eldhardt,83, of Hawarden, Iowa, formely of Sioux City, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturdasy at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, with Chaplin Lorna Peters officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Doris was born Feb. 28, 1923 in Wahoo, Neb., the daughter of William and Bertha Ellen(Kimes) Brown. She had lived in Nebraska, Washington and Iowa. She was united in marriage to Carl Hansen Eldhardt on Nov. 29, 1940, in Sioux City. She was a homemaker. Carl passed away Oct. 2, 1994. She was a volunteer at the Senior Center in Akron, Iowa. She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, arts and craft, long walks with her husband, spending time with her grandchildren and writing poetry.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Carmichael of Georgia, Sharon Sherman of Aurora, Colo., and Susan and her husband Duane Divis of Hawarden, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, 25 Great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter; a great-Grandson; a great-grand daughter; and several brothers and sisters
