Fred Van Schepen,85 of Ireton, died Nov. 7 at a nursing home in Orange City. The funeral services were held Nov 10 in Christian Reformed Church in Ireton. The Rev. Rubingh officiated. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the Van Etten Funeral Home of Orange City in charge.

Mr. Van Schepen, was born Aug 24. 1888 at Patterson, NJ. He married Johanna Gysen June 24, 1915 at Ireton. She dierd Dec 27, 1967. They farmed in the Ireton community and retired in Ireton in 1958.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Ethel) Schiebout of Sioux Center, Mrs. Henry (Dorothy) Goslinga of Orange City and Mrs. John (Eileen) De Vries of DeMott, Ind.; four sons, Alfred of Ireton, John of South Holland, ILL., Paul of Grand Rapids, Mich., George of Sioux City; 33 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Paul Anema of Rock Valley; three half sisters, Mrs. Tony Vander Kooy of Ireton, Mrs. Ed Van Engen of Ireton and Mrs. Henry Kooiker of Grand Rapids Mich.
