Herman Jahde passed away Sunday, August 12, 1973 at the Floyd Valley Hospital of La Mars, Iowa at the age of 74 years 1 month and 4 days. Funeral services were held Wednesday Aug. 15 at Saint John's American Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Burial services were held at Rest Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery of Lemars under the direction of the Cooperative Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Herman Jahde, son of August and Mary Jahde, was born July 8, 1899 at Hawarden, Iowa. He attended school and lived his youth in rural Hawarden. He was united in marriage to Frances Waterbury of Hudson, SD. on June 14, 1933 at Madison, SD.Their married life was lived on farms in the vicinities of Hawarden, Iowa, Hudson, SD., Ireton, Iowa and Sioux City, Iowa. In 1955 they moved to Le Mars, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother William and a sister Mrs. Arthur De Raad

He is survived by his wife, one son Richard of Maurice, Iowa, one daughter Sharon (Mrs.Charles Rokes) of Washburn, Iowa; two grandchildren; one brother Fred Jahde of Hawarden, Iowa; two sisters Mrs. Anna Kenowith of Ireton, Iowa and Elsie Jahde of Hawarden, Iowa
