Carl Goran Peterson,83 of Alcester died on Thursday July 12. Funeral services were held last Monday, July 16, at the Alcester Baptist Church and burial services were at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Peterson was born on July 16, 1889 at Gamleby,Smaland,Sweden to Garl Oscar and Christina (Strand) Peterson. At the age twenty he emigrated to the United States, making his home at Ida Grove, Iowa. He worked in Illinois and other communities and on Jan 29, 1919 was married to Beda Nordling at Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Alcester Community since. Mr. Peterson was a member of the Alcester Baptist Church and served his church in several official capacities during his church life.

He is survived by three sons; Art of Alcester. LeRoy of Hawarden and Raymond of Sioux City; five daughters; Marion (Mrs. Howard Warnkvis) and Frances (Mrs. Harold Beuckens) both of Starbuck. Minn. Leona (Mrs. Earl Beuckens of Sioux City, Shirley (Mrs. Paul McKee of Hawarden and Winona.(Mrs. Marvin Boles) of Independence, Missouri; two step-son Emil Nordling of Alcester and Clarence Nordling of Hudson; one step daughter, Mrs. Madelyn Osman of Minneaplois; one brother, David Peterson in Sweden; Twenty nine grandchildrenand ten great grandchildren
