Geneva H. Vermeer
Geneva H. Vermeer, 86, of Rock Rapids, formerly of Sioux Center and of Denver, Colorado, died Saturdays, July 31, at Rock Rapids Health Center.
Services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Vander Ploeg Chapel in Sioux Center with the Rev. Carl Boersma officiating. Burial will be Thursday in Hampden Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Denver.
Miss Vermeer was born January 1, 1913, at Orange City, the daughter of Richard E. and Katherine (Roos) Vermeer. In 1953 she moved to Denver where she was a nurse and private caregiver. In 1998, because of falling health, she moved to the Rock Rapids Nursing Home to be near her family.
Survivors include two brothers; Ed R. and Andrew, both of Sioux Center; and a sister, Mrs. Floyd (Estelle) Achterhof, of Rock Rapids.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Vermeer.
