Old Pioneer Passed Away
Mr. Henry Vermeer Sr. a seventy-nine year old pioneer died late Monday at his home in Sioux Center. Mr. Vermeer was born in the Netherlands with his family he imigrated to the U. S. in 1867, settling in Wisconson. Five years later, when the Hollanders began a settlement in Sioux County, the Vermeer family started west with wagon and horses and settled on a farm near Sioux Center. About 30 years ago Mr. Vermeer retired to live in town.
The survivors are: Mr. H. Vermeer Sr., Mrs. Jennie De Vries, Mrs. Dena Schimmer,
Mr. Jake Vermeer, Mr. Pete Vermeer, Mr. Joe Vermeer, Mr. Wm. Vermeer, Mr. John Vermeer, Mr. Theo. Vermeer,Mrs. Beernjnk. His brother Mr. E. Vermeer and his sister Mrs. G. Vermeer.
