Marvin Van Der Weide, age 64, of Orange City, died Friday, July 26, 1996, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital at Sioux Center, Iowa.
Marvin Van Der Weide, the son of Peter and Hattie (Harskamp) Van Der Weide, was born at Sioux Center, Iowa on May 4, 1932. He lived his youth and received his education in Sioux Center, graduating from the Sioux Center High School in 1949.
He was united in marriage to Henrietta Van Veldhuizen at Sioux Center, iowa, on November 7, 1952. During their married life, they have resided in Orange City, where Marvin had been employed at the Vogel Paint Corp.
He is survived by his wife: Henrietta of Orange City, one daughter, Beverly Van Der Weide of Orange City and one son and his wife: Bryan and Annette Van Der Weide of Hanford, California, a grandson: Jesse of Hanford, California, five brothers: William and Edwin of Sioux Center, Tony and Harold of Orange City, and Eugene of Sioux City, and one sister, Mrs. Alyda Olivier of Sioux Center.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter: Wanda Mae, three brothers: John, Henry, and Kenneth, and one sister , Dillie Van Der Weide.
He was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Church of Sioux Center. A special interest of Marvin’s was reading.
