Ray Frank Bradford a former ZHawarden resident, passed away on JUly 5 at O'Fallon, Illinois, Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 7, at the Wilson Funeral Home there. Interment was held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagles Grove.

Ray Frank Bradford, son of Sidney and Elizabeth (Maxwell)Bradford, was born on January 3, 1883 in Scranton, Iowa, where he later attended the public school . In October of 1910 he was united in marriage with Norma Wilson in Eagle Grove and to this union two son were born. THe family lived in Burt and Alden Iowa, Elmore, Minnesota, Jewell and Eagle Grove, Iowa., before moving to Hawarden, Iowa in 1939 where they continued to live until 1971. He was a retired Railroad Engineer with the Chicago and North Western Railroad. Following the death of his wife Norma an in 1971 he moved to O'Fallon, Illinois to be with his son, Charles, later moving to Eagle Grove. He had been failing in health this past year and had been a patient in the Andrick Nursing Home in O'Fallon for several months until his death early Thursday morning, July 5, 1973. He was 90 years, 6 months and 2 days of age at the time of his passing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Norma; 1 sister and four brothers. He is survived by his two sons; Charles of O'Fallon, Illinois and Everett of Fargo, North Dakatoa; 3 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
