Peter, son of Nellie and Gradus Verrips was born on July 11, 1892 at Orange City, Iowa. He attended school and lived his youth in the Middleburg area.
He was united in marriage with Nellie Bomgaars of Middleburg on February 3, 1916, at Middleburg, where they farmed for several years, moving to Sioux Center in 1924.
He passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 1983 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital at the age of ninety-one years. two months and two days.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie; two sons, Gary of Mountain Home, Idaho; Arie of Fairfax, Virginia; four grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
