Obituary: Rock Valley, IA: Robert "Bob" Ver Mulm, 76, of Rock Valley, died Friday, February 22, 2008 at his home. Funeral Service will be 10:30 am Wednesday at the First Reformed Church of Rock Valley. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery of Rock Valley. Rev. Mike Van Hamersveld will be officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday until 5 pm at Porter Funeral Home and 6:30-8 pm with the family present at First Reformed Church.

Robert was born June 18, 1931 at Rock Valley, son of Cornelius "Case" and Artie (Van Zee) Ver Mulm. Bob was united in marriage to Johanna Vonk on March 29, 1950 in Inwood, IA. He first worked at Ray Berner’s Welding Shop before working for the Iowa State Highway Commission for 9 years. Bob worked for Rock Valley Cement Block and Tile (1969-1987) and also operated Bob’s Shoe Repair selling and repairing shoes (1958-1998). In retirement he enjoyed woodworking, making farm sets, various trucks, and horse drawn equipment. Bob also enjoyed being a Foster Grand Parent for over 7 years and was a lifetime member of the First Reformed Church.

Bob is survived by his wife, Johanna; sons, Robert (Joyce) Ver Mulm of Sioux Center, IA, Donald (Nancy) Ver Mulm of Wyoming, MI, Douglas (Lisa) Ver Mulm of Rock Valley, Roger (Jill) Ver Mulm of Sioux Center, IA; daughters, Donna Reekers of Rock Valley, Ruth Ver Mulm of Sioux Falls, SD, Delores (Steve) Stratmeyer of Tea, SD; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchilden; brother, Lyle (Marion) Ver Mulm of Lakewood, CA; sisters Elsie DeJongh of Buena Park, CA, Frances (Chuck) Hegwein of Columbia, CA; brother-in-laws, Jack Wegge and Ernie Reaper.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Case and Artie; brothers, Conrad and Leonard Ver Mulm; sisters, Jeanetta Wegge and Lena Reaper.
