Sioux County Capital, January 7, 1988

Alice DeKoter, 90, of Sioux Center, died Wednesday, Dec. 30 in the Sioux Center hospital.

Services were at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 2 in Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center with the Rev. Frank Snuttjer officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City.

Mrs. DeKoter, the former Alice Hagens, was born April 15, 1897 in The Netherlands where she lived her youth and attended school. She came to the United States in 1913. On Dec. 27, 1917 she married Peter Kas. He died in 1918. She married Cornelius "Neal" DeKoter, Nov. 7, 1939 in Hospers. The couple lived in Orange City and Sioux Center.

Mrs. DeKoter was a member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City.

Survivors include her husband.
