GERTRUDE DE BOER
Gertrude DeBoer, 74, of Luverne, Mn., died May 20 at the Luverne Hospice Cottage. Funeral services were held Monday at the Christian Reformed Church in Luverne, with burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Hartqujst Funeral Home, Luverne.
Gertrude was born to William and Alice (Van Dyk) Jansma on January 26, 1930 in Timber Lake, S.D. As a young child she moved with her parents to Hull, Ia. and then Artesia, Calif. and then to northwest Iowa where she was raised on the family farm and attended country school.
She married James DeBoer in 1951 and they farmed at various areas, moving to a farm they bought near Ash Creek, Mn. in 1973.
She is survivied by her husband, James of Luverne, 2 sons, 4 daughters; 22 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tunis and his wife, Wilmyna Jansma of Hull and William and his wife Harriet Jansma of Ellsworth, Mn.; and one sister-in~law, Berniece Jansma Barstad of Luverne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Barteld Jansma and her son-in-law, Rick Schaefer.
