Funeral services were held for Mrs. Pieternella De Kam, 79, Saturday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m., from the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with Rev. John Byker officiating. Burial was held in the Valley View cemetery at Rock Valley under the direction of the Co-operative Funeral service of Sioux Center.

Mrs. De Kam passed away at her home in Rock Valley, Tuesday, April 4, after an illness of a few months.

She was a daughter of John De Witte and Pieternella Louwerse born at Gryspherke, Netherlands, on July 7, 1881. March 4, 1903 she married John De Kam.

Mr. De Kam preceded her in death February 15, 1958, and two children preceded her at the ages of nine months and five years.

Surviving are her 13 children, Nellie (Mrs. Evert Bakker) of Chandler, MN; Johanna (Mrs. Gys Bakker) of Rock Valley; John of Edgerton, MN; Lena (Mrs. Peter De Roon), Anna (Mrs. John Van Beek), Catherine (Mrs. Leonard Groenweg), all of Rock Valley, Peter of Sheldon, Francis (Mrs. Clarence Boer) and Elizabeth (Mrs. John Oostra) of Rock Valley, Marvin of Rock Rapids, Clarence, Samuel and Martina (Mrs. Ed Kraght) all of Rock Valley; 64 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
