From the Sioux Center News.
Mrs. A. Dekker of Prairie View, Kans., died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dick Bonnema near Hawarden early last Thursday. Mrs. Dekker had been suffering from cancer for over a year and was on her way home from the Mayo hospital in Rochester, MN. Although she was known to be dangerously ill her death came as a shock. It was a fortunate coincidence that she could be in her daughters home and that her brother, Steven Ramaker, who recently moved here, could be with her.Intimate friends and relatives attended a house funeral at the Dick Bonnema home before the body was shipped to Kansas Saturday.
Rev. Frank De Jong, who has been on a vacation to Denver, returned to Kansas to conduct the funeral.
Mr. & Mrs. Dekker are well known here, they lived north of town until eight years ago, when they moved to Kansas.
