Mr. Albert Dekker, 75, died Saturday morning in a Sioux City hospital.
Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 10:30 a.m., in the First Reformed Church at Maurice. Pastor Edward Fikse officiated. Burial was in the Sherman Township Cemetery, Maurice, under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City.
Mr. Dekker was born June 14, 1909, at Orange City, the son of John C. & Dorothy (Hoogland) Dekker. He married Alyda Hoekstra, Feb. 22, 1934 at Maurice. The couple farmed all their married life in rural Maurice and moved to Orange City in 1971.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Maurice.
Survivors include his wife, Alyda; three sons, Paul of Maurice, Earle of Sheldon and Dennis of Sioux Center; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Lila) Kosters of Orange City; eleven grandchildren; four brothers, Chris & Henry, both of Orange City, Frank of Sioux Center and Gerrit of Hospers; two sisters, Mrs. Ida De Haan of Bellflower, CA, and Miss Grace Dekker of Orange City.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Alice Miedema and an infant son, Peter.
