Marion H. De Kock, Sr., 78, of Doon died Sunday, Aug. 25, 1991, at a Sioux City hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Services were held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Protestant Reformed Church of Doon, with the Rev. Russell Dykstra officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center under direction of the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mr. De Kock was born Jan. 8, 1913 in Maurice, the son of John & Hattie (De Jong) De Kock. He married Nellie De Vos, May 20, 1936 in Orange City. The couple farmed near Hawarden until moving into Hawarden in 1963. From 1964 until retiring in 1978, he worked for the city of Hawarden. Mrs. De Kock died Aug. 30, 1977. He married Esther Van Tol, Dec. 13, 1980 in Doon. They made their home in Doon.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Derold De Kock of Sioux Center; a sister, Iola Raak of Orange City; three grandchildren, Mark De Kock, Mrs. Ron (Melanie) Coenen and Steven De Kock; and two great-grandchildren, Kimberly De Kock and Bethani Croenen.

He also was preceded in death by a son, Marion De Kock, Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Donna (Hoffs) De Kock; a granddaughter, Joyce De Kock; and four brothers, Lester, James, Harvey and Vernon De Kock.
