MRS. STEPHEN DE JONG
October 10, 1877------- September 6, 1965
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, September 8, 1965 at the First Reformed church of Orange City for Mrs. Stephen De Jong, 87, who passed away Monday, September 6, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital following a short illness.
Interment was made in the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral home.
Mrs. De Jong, (nee Johanna M. Mouw), was born October 10, 1877, on a farm 1½ miles north of Orange City. She was united in marriage to Stephen De Jong in 1902. They became the parents of five children. Mr. De Jong passed away in 1959.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Nellie) Meier of Coleridge, Nebr., Earlene at home and one son, Bernard at home. Ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive.
Preceding her in death were her husband, two sons, Earl and Peter.
