Merwin Hurlburt died Wednesday [March 30] of diabetes at the county poor farm. He was a tramp who came from Sioux Falls to Rock Valley and walked thence to the poorfarm in January. After a short stay there he went to Toma Wisconsin where he has relatives. He says they beat him out of his property and he found nothing there to live on and so came back to die where he knew his last hours would be made comfortable. He got back here Monday. His return speaks well for the kindness of the McKee's but the expenses in the matter should be collected from Hurlburt's folks or the county where they live. His body was shipped to a medical college at Sioux City. He was a man of about fifty years. How sad is a human wreck adrift on the ocean of life.
