Anna Marie Dekkers, 86, of Sioux Center died Tuesday, August 14, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital.

Services were at 10:30 a.m., Friday at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Duane Tinklenberg officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Dekkers was born November 23, 1914 to Peter & Gertie (Kooi) Haverhals near Lebanon. She attended country school for five years and graduated from Lebanon Christian School. She married Henry Dekkers on January 11, 1939. They farmed near Ireton for 36 years until retiring to Sioux Center in 1975.

She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church and belonged to the Sunshine Circle. She was a member of the Friendly Visitors at the Sioux Center Community Health Center for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years; two sons, Peter and Julene, and Howard and Marilyn, all of Ireton; a daughter, Wilhelmina and Del Vandekerk of Bellingham, WA; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five sisters, Grace Dekkers, Gertie & Melvin Bonnema, Rena Dragstra, Jean and the Rev. Allen Boeve and Adelene Haverhals; and two sisters-in-law, Fannie Haverhals and Josephine Haverhals.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Siebert and Peter, and one infant son.
